SubscriberHi, does the grain structure evolution is governed by two sub-models,for nucleation and grain growth kinetics, apart from the cellular automata method in ansys additive science module ? i need more details about the microsrcutre simulation what are models used i read the help documentation of ansys additive but i need more details about model used equations and nucleation parameters, thnx

Ansys EmployeeThe microstructure model in additive science module is based on Cellular Automata method and the grain evolution is governed by two models i.e., nucleation followed by growth kinetics.  For more information please refer to this article: Understanding grain evolution in additive manufacturing through modeling - ScienceDirect
