Composites – Principle Stress

I'm just wondering if the principel stresses in the results from a compsites analysis align with the material fibre direction?

      If not:

      1. How do I shown the stress vectors so I can see the stress direction (they are currently greyed out in the ribbon when displying the maximum principle stresses)?
      2. How do I show the stresses in the fibre direction?

      Hello,

The principal stresses in the results  may not necessarily align with the material fibre direction. If your solution coordinate system is aligned with the fiber direction, then it is fine. Else you have to set the solution coordinate system accordingly. You can see the following documentation.

More discussions on the same can be found in below links.

      Hope this helps !
