SubscriberHello guys,
I am using space claim and I am trying to do a volume extract operation on a complex terrain geometry (attached images). The objective is to study the flow over land.
The box faces represent the limits of the domain and the flat zone is supposed to represent the sea.
When trying to do the volume extraction I select the whole solid body and for the seed face I select one of the 'sea faces' but I cannot complete the operation. It tells me that the following error occurs: cannot create volume body all ends have not been capped.
Any idea on what might be causing this? Any suggestion for a different approach?
Best regards and thanks in advance.

That picture you attached IS the Volume, if you just cap (Fill the top of the "box")
You use the volume extract tool when you need a solid that represents the inside of something that has openings -- like a solid volume that represents the liquid inside a pipe, or the air volume inside a heat exchanger -- anything that you want modeled as the 'negative' from some 'positive' In your case you have the surfaces, that can be made into negatives or positives --- so cap it at the top to make a positive

SubscriberIt makes sense Frank. I'll try that and see the outcome.
Thank you!
