LPBF Setup Wizard Error: One or more objects may have lost some scoping

Hello, I am attempting to create a base using the first step of the LPBF Setup Wizard (Legacy) and I am encountering this error during the runtime, but it disappears once the step fails. The error did not appear when I was setting up the same simulation on my local computer which uses Windows , but I need to run the study on my university's HPC cluster to have sufficient computing power, and the cluster uses a Linux OS. Here are some screenshots of the step failing. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

      Hi,

I am not sure why changing operating system would give that error message. Have you updated the geometry?

This particular error appears because certain mesh controls may no longer be applicable to the same surfaces as they were before the geometry update. This can occur when surfaces are dropped because their internal names have changed during the update process. To know this, you can filter the tree using the 'Scoping' option set to 'Partial' to identify the affected tree objects.

      Hope this helps

      Thank you.

Hi Aurojyoti, I am not sure why an error related to meshing would appear as I have not yet reached this step in the Setup Wizard. The only geometry that is being altered is my creating a base and manually placing it in contact with the bottom face of my imported model. When I went into scoping, i did not see any objects except for 'Project.' Thank you for the response. Hopefully these details will be helpful in resolving the error.

Below are documented limitations (Chapter 2 of the LPBF Simulation Guide) related to running WB-Additive on a Linux platform...

      • The voxelized mesh option (Cartesian Mesh with Voxelization Option), one of the three recommended mesh methods for layered simulations, is not available on a Linux platform because the underlying voxelizer code is incompatible with Linux. Choose between a Cartesian mesh and a layered tetrahedrons mesh.

      • The ability to create Generated Supports is not supported on a Linux platform

Hi, I have now created a base in the part file and imported the new geometry, but I am still receiving the same error notification when attempting to move to the meshing step. There is no error in the message panel. Do you have any idea what may be causing the issue?
