SubscriberHello, I am new to ansys and I want to do a two leg bridle lift analysis (as illustrated in the below photo) knowing that I already did the lifting analysis of the structure with the two springs. So basically I already did the lower part of the photo.
So How can I proceed now to illustrate the upper part phenomena, and how can I create a beam on top of the two springs (and create connections between them) and then create two other springs on top which will be connected to the crane?
2. How can I account for the skew load factor (on gravity) and the diagonal loads that will be created when lifting.

In SpaceClaim, draw a line for the spreader bar, the wires down to the plate, the wires up to the lifting point and a simple rectangular plate with dimensions that reach the four corners where the lower wires go. SpaceClaim lets you create cross-sections and create beams with those cross sections. You can have a different cross section for the bar, the lower wires and the upper wires.
In Mechanical, assign a material for each item. Adjust the thickness of the plate until it reaches the correct mass. Add a Standard Earth Gravity to load the system. Put a fixed support at the lifting point.
Since an object hanging from a single point has little or no stiffness to prevent it swinging, that will cause a Static Structural solution to fail. You can turn on Weak Springs under the Analysis settings to fix that.
Under the Solution branch, you can insert a Probe for the axial force in the wires and spreader bar.
