DPM Particles getting trapped

  Hello,
  
  I am running a DPM model in a microchannel and I'm seeing weird particle tracking results. I'm injecting 100 particles into the stream and have a well refined structured mesh. I've run the same model many times with different dimensions and sometimes the model works as expected but sometimes a large number of particles travel in weird paths like in the image of a single stream attached below. They seem to be getting stuck when they shouldn't be.
  
  Any ideas what the problem is?

  I should also say that the number of tracking steps is 50,000 and the length scale is 1e-07
