Update pressure on structure (hydrostatic) in transient calculation

I want to apply a hydrostatic pressure field on a structure that translates up and down but when i apply now a hydrostatic pressure in Ansys Mechanical 2023R2 the pressure is static during the whole calculation it only gets applied at the first instance where i was hoping that the pressure would be adjusted accordingly when the structure is translating up and down. When it would go down the pressure on the model should increase where when it would move upwards the pressure should decrease.

Maybe the only way is to apply the pressure as rho*g*h in a table.

      Hi

We need a upf called USRCAL to do this.

If you are supported there is an example in the customer portal.

      All the best

      Erik

        Dear Erik,

Thank you for you reply, i have a full enterprise license available and support for it.
        I assume you mean ID# : 2060698?

          Hi

          Yes that is the one.

          (https://support.ansys.com/KnowledgeResources/Solutions?solutionIdentifier=sol2060698&productName=ANSYS+Mechanical&productFamily=Structural%20Mechanics)

It is a upf so tricky to use perhaps – if you need help please create a support request.

Have in mind that the above is not giving the correct transient hydrodynamic solution (since we neglect radiation/wave damping and other hydro dyn. factors) - if that is needed AQWA can be used.

          All the best

          Erik

          Erik,

Sadly our company for support, which is a ansys certified elite channel partner, cant provide us with the specific Fortran compiler.

          Thanks for the help.

          Regards,

          Laurens
