SubscriberHi,
I have saved the output of a Multiphase VOF Axisymmetric simulation from Fluent in the form of an Ensight case.
I select my desired timestep and I use iso-volume to show the region occupied by a specific phase. However since it is a 2D Axisymmetric case, the iso-volume generated is a surface. If I then proceed to use the calculator to generate the volume occupied by the iso-volume, it gives me 0 because its a surface. I am however able to get a value for Area.
Is it possible to extract the volume? Is it possible to convert the area of 2D surface generated by iso-volume for an axisymmetric case into volume?
Kind regards,
Allen

SubscriberIt seems if I can extract the geometric centroid of the 2D iso-volume generated for the axisymmetric case, then I can calculate volume using Pappus theorem,
V = 2 x pi x Area x centroid
