reusing restarts from multi-step analysis in new analysis

I'd like to take a solved multistep analysis, make a copy, alter the last load step and use the resart point to resolve from before that. I found this posting from a few years back.
      /forum/forums/topic/multiple-loads-restarted-from-initial-loadstep/
Is this still the best method or has anything been updated (ideally when duplicating an analysis in the tree there would be an option to include results restart points etc)

      Hi

In 2023 R1 and R2 there is a restart extension that comes with the Ansys workbench installation and that you can use.

      See help manual for info.

      All the best

      Erik

      Hi Erik,
Thanks for the info on that.
Is that the correct link? It seems to be talking about restart controls specific to the analysis they are created in, but doesn’t seem to talk about how to then subsequently use them in a duplicated . analysis.

Edit - nvm, found the extension and saw the extra toolbar that it created. All looks good so ta for the pointer????

Good to hear that you found it.

2023 R1 &R2 help is not great (took away the link), but 2024 R1 should have some more info.

Think it is easy to use luckily - press first extension button (create restart analysis) to create a new system (copy of base system) that will use the restart from your first base system, and fill in some restart options (if you want  - under restart setup) for the newly created second system.
