Hi All, Is there a link or video tutorial of the 3D woven composite stresss assessment in ACP?

      Regards,

      Prathap

      Hi

Perhaps this helps if you want to do some micro/meso scale modelling of woven fabric and then use this in a larger assembly:

      https://www.ansys.com/blog/how-to-simulate-microstructures-composites

If not explain more what you would like to do in acp see the manual (you can follow any acp tutorial you find on the internet or here and just use different material say woven type or uni-dir. type).

and say woven fabric failure criteria (Puck for Woven) see link below again:

      2.1.3.1. Materials (ansys.com)

See here how to open the above help link:

      Hi Erik,

      Thanks for your response.

I am new to the composite stress assessment hence, may not be able to provide proper details. Basically, I have a 3D assembly model, where one part is composite and other are metallic, the composite part has variable thickness and pin holes. Is it possible to bring the 3D mesh from external tool into ACP and assign woven composite material properties?

As far as I understood, the solid model feature in ACP requires a reference shell geometry and a composite definition to construct a solid element model. But, in my case I think it's difficult to extract the shell geometry due to variable thickness and hole features (For example assume a casing boss feature with a hole).

      Regards,

      Prathap
