SubscriberGreetings, Everyone!
I'm currently working on compliant mechanisms, and I'm interested in performing a SIMP Topology Optimization design solution that would allow me to maximize compliance to allow the deformation of a component of a certain displacement that I would like to include. However, I see in the "Objectives" that while there is an option to minimize compliance by default, there seems to be no toggle to maximize it.
Is there no such option in Structural Optimization, or am I using the wrong analysis system?
Thanks in advance.

Ansys EmployeeCan you explain better what you want? There is not an option to maximize compliance. Usually you want to minimize compliance, within a certain mass maximum limit, or even minimizing mass within a compliance limit. A part deformed too much will eventually not fit to other parts or function like original. That's why we want to minimize compliance.
I'm not sure if maximizing compliance is an optimization. It seems you could just use less material, down to any minimum mass limit you have specified, to make it most compliant.
