No Solving possible due to GPU Issues

When trying to solve a Mechanical stress simulation i get the error:

(DP 0) The solution may not start if the correct GPU unit is not installed on the computer on which you are running the solution. Please check the requirements for the GPU unit carefully.

      (Translated from german)

I run a relativly new setup with an 12th gen i9 with 64GB of DDR5 Ram. Due to my limited budget i still run an old GTX 1060 6GB GPU, a newer card is no option at the moment.

Is there a way to NOT use the GPU and simply solve using only the CPU as for now the speed is not as important and the GPU would probably not contribute in any meaningful way. The way it is now it cannot solve the setup at all.

      Thank you in advance

      Hi,

Assuming you haven't found a solution. The GPU is turned on/off in the solve process settingsc-structural/

Also note that 1 hpu license is required - there is also an error on insuffucuent number of hpu licenses in the out-file

Today i had some help from a supervisor and it turns out the GPU did count as a hpu even when turend off and the amount of cores was not automatically adjusted to the number available for my license.

if anyone encounters similar problems it canbe manualy set under Ansys  Mechanical enterprise ->right click on solutions ->my PC-> extended Properties and then needs to be set .

(all translated from german so garantee on the naming)

      thanks for the reply
