Workbench restart from a completed run that did NOT reach step end time in mechanical.

      Hello everyone,

I'm running an FSI simulations for aortic geometries and I'm trying to simulate multiple cardiac cycles, 1 second each. I set a higher step end time in mechanical (i.e. 3 seconds). Intermediate restart points were set and  the end time for system coupling is 1 at the end of first cycle. Now i changed it to 2 seconds and updated the solution component for system coupling. After a long time the progress windows shows "awaiting connections from coupling participants" but nothing seems to happen. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong...Has anyone run into the same problem? How do you approach Workbench restarts? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated..

      Hi Arianna,

What you have done should work. What you can try doing is as follows:

      1) Open Mechanical and pickthe current restart point

      2) Open Fluent and click File > Solution Files... to read the desired restart point

      3) In system coupling, set coupling initialization to the desired step.

      This should work.

      Regards,

      Ryan
