      Hi,

I'm looking for help from student community. Upon installation of Ansys 19.1 or 19.2 exactly as mentioned steps (administrative privileges) , when launching workbench, I'm getting - could not connect to license server error . I tried various solutions mentioned online but nothing worked so far.

Did you try with using only English in your Windows user account (username) ?

If so, please login to that account and open CMD Prompt, then issue the following command

      set

then post the content of it here

      Thanks,

      unset the ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE environment variable

and make sure that you have the valid/most recent student.lic file under C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS StudentShared FilesLicensing

does this make any difference ?

I deleted the ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE environment variable, and it is working now. But I would to mention this step I tried earlier as well removing environment variable & trying launching it but it didn't work, also first hand there wasn't any environment variable at-all I had to do that because it wasn't working.

I want to bring to your notice that what was new this time ? Coincidentally Windows got updated as well recently jumping to higher build version 1809. So that's I'm not sure whether this was due to variable (as it was tried earlier as well) or due to update in Windows (might be fixing some issue with server port connection. Just guessing !!)

I appreciate your efforts to help me out with this . Sincere Thanks for your time and guidance

      Sounds good.

Yea, this is hard to say unless we compare every difference between 'before' and 'after'.

      Thanks,

      Win
