I was wondering how to create the .mnf file to export my Mechanical APDL file to ADAMS.

Ever time I try to export my file I get an error saying Superelement file subelem.sub is not available. How do I solve this error?

Please provide more information on the license used and how you are creating the mnf file.  The ADAMS command is actually a macro that has several steps.  Generating a sub file is a solution process.  Did you happen to have a PrePost only license checked out when for Mechanical APDL?

I have student license, I am creating the mnf. file using Mechanical APDL. After modeling the part, I run the simulation, and then export to ADAMS.

I found an example Ansys file that was able to create the mnf. file; however, when I tried to create the mnf file, I got this error. saying that

"the version size limits (nodes) have been exceeded. Contact your ANSYS support person for more information".

Could it be based on my student license?

Ah yes, the student versions are 'size' limited.  Limited in the node and element count.  Do you have access to a academic license?  If not you will need to coarsen the model and use fewer nodes/elements.

p.s. the student version limit is 32,000 nodes and 32,000 elements.

How do I coarsen the model and use fewer nodes? Also, will the less coarse model effect my results in Adams?
