SubscriberHello,
The following error pops-up when opening "Mechanical APDL Launcher"
Â
Things to note about my installation:
- I am able to execute Icepack and SpaceClaim without any issues
- I have installed all ANSYS programs on the
drive of the computer, not the C: (main) drive
- I am running Windows 10
Â
Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeHi flobo,
Launch the Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility v19.3 with "run as administrator" > Specify the License Server Machine > Add Server Machine Specification > in the Hostname 1 box , type the hostname of the license server > OKÂ
Does this help ?
Thanks,
Win

Ansys Employeeopen CMD Prompt, then issue the following command
set
and post the entire output of it here.
Also, go to your installation directory (e.g., C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensing) , then open ansyslmd.ini with any text editor app like notepad and post its content here.

SubscriberHello,
Â
I believe I have solved all of the problems. Just want to share the solution to that last issue I had.
In order to change the default directory:Â ALL PREVIOUS INSTALLATIONS OF LIC. MANAGERÂ MUST BE REMOVED
In some instances, that includes removing or deleting the license manager services:
If this cannot be performed using task manager, it can be done using the command prompt:
SC DELETE servicename
In the case of the services shown above
SC DELETE "ANSYS, Inc. License Manager"
SC DELETE "ANSYSLicensingTomcat"
Note that the " " may or may not be needed...
After, reboot/restart your machine!

Ansys EmployeeThank you for sharing.
Yes, this is correct, you should remove this and ANSYSLIC_DIR , so that you could change the installation path.
