Shell element face selection or normal assignment

      Hello,

Is it possible to apply loads/supports on both inner & outer surface of a cylinder created as a thin membrane with certain thickness? Does shell only allows one face selection(normal vector assigned)? Please advice.

      Thanks,

      YK

If you apply a Pressure load, you simply put a -ve sign on the magnitude if you want the pressure to be on the other side.

If you are defining contact with a surface, you identify if the contact face is the Top or Bottom face of the surface to indicate which side you are defining contact.

Thanks peter. I have fluid-structure interface on inner and elastic support on outer. Negative value doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts?

Hello yk2359nI'm leaving this comment so if anyone faces the same problem can solve it. nSolution : nYou have to define the prober suface normal using for example spaceclaim Follow this link to do sonhttp://help.spaceclaim.com/2015.0.0/en/Content/Displaying_Normal.htmnif your pressure is pointing to the wrong direction just reverse the normal and everything should be okn
