SubscriberHello Everyone,
I'm working on a nozzle-simulation and have a problem which I couldn't solve it. I would be happy for your help.
I'm trying to plot along a created line with Fluent. I created this line with 2 points. If I try to plot I get an error: Cannot plot along curve length .... see screenshot. If i plot with direction vector it strangely works. But I need the plot with curve length.
One solution is to derive a equation for the curve length depents on the direction vector. But I want to take this solution at last.
Why I get the error: Cannot plot alonge curve length ...? I get this error for all variables on the Y axis which I tried to plot like volumefraction, velocitiy, ... Does anybody know it?
The white line is the divergent wall, the yellow line is the axis, the black line is the created line. The created line begins on the wall and ends on the axis.
Best regards
Mustafa C.

Forum ModeratorDid you create a line or a rake? Ie did you define a number of points for the line during creation?

SubscriberHello,
thanks for your answer.
It's not a rake. It's a line with 2 points like
x0 = ... m
y0 = ... m
x1 = ... m
y1 = ... m -

Ansys EmployeeDoes it apply for the other lines or just the problem occurs when plotting along this particular line?

SubscriberIt only applies for some lines not on all. It applies on 5 from 100 lines (I have created 100 lines).
An Example line a001 until a007 works. Than line a010 until a039 works again.
I get this error on line a008, a009, a040, a049, a096.
Best regards

Ansys EmployeeAre you able to plot the lines? Does the lines cross dissimilar zones (from the physical point of view say solid /fluid)?

I didnt't checked every line but all lines i have checked aren't exactly on the wall (I think it comes from numerical rounding error). Some of the lines goes out of the domain and some of the lines are in the domain.
Example line a008:
Here I zoomed very strong. Line a003 is like a008 in the domain too. But a003 works and a008 doesn't work.
Another example: a007 goes out of the domain. This is a007 strongly zoomed in:
a096 goes out of the domain too. But a007 works and a096 doesn't work.
It's strange.
Best regards

SubscriberI get the same error, almost exactly same situation. Some lines work and some don't, cannot know what's the cause.

Ansys EmployeeJust to double check if you can create the same line in CFD-Post to plot whatever you want to plot.
Does it mean that a007 is the same as a096?

SubscriberOk I will try it on CFD-Post later.
Yes both are going out of the domain (see screenshot before) but a007 works and a096 doesnt work.
If I set direction vector every line works. I have this problem only if i set curve length.
Best regards
Mustafa

Ansys EmployeeWhat about recreating the problematic lines: does this help?
