SubscriberHello,
Currently, I am working with two different student version of Ansys, one that is free to download from this website (version 19.2) and one version of my own university (version 19). The university version (version 19) has more rights, by example implementation of Ansys AQWA, being able to calculate the Hydrodynamic Diffraction. I need this calculation option for my research. However, I have a very large and complex file that is made by an external person in Ansys 19.2.Â
I am not able to open this file in the 19.0 version. Is there some way to convert the file from 19.2 to 19.0?
Or how to get the AQWA functions on the online Student version?Â
Â
Thanks

SubscriberHello Fiona,
AQWA is not available on the Student version.
It is difficult to move data backward to an earlier version.Â
The simplest approach for you is to have the university upgrade to the latest version. It may even be possible for just your computer to have 19.2 installed, while the university is serving release 19 licenses. All you would need is access to the 19.2 media, which your university Ansys Support Coordinator could provide.
If the university refuses to make 19.2 available, then you have to drag the data back piece-by-piece.
Regards,
Peter
