SubscriberHi,
i am trying to simulate nozzle flow with species transport...the reactants are H2-02 and the assumption is the reaction is completed inside the combustion chamber...mole fractions for all the species like H2,02,H,OH etc are known...how can i simulate this problem?...in FLUENT i dont know how to input the mole fractions of dissociated products like H,OH...Do i need to input CHEMKIN file for this type of problem?

Ansys EmployeeIf you will use some few reactions and have not really a lot of species then there is no need to input a CHEMKIn file. Just enable the species transport and select a mixture template (which is the most appropriate for you) and enable volumetric reactions at first. If you can assume that mixed is burnt or at least fast chemistry and if you have a 1 or 2 step reaction then you will end up with Eddy dissipation or Eddy Dissipation Finite Rate Model for the combustion. For fast chemistry with turbulent interaction, you can even give a try with the Non-Premixed equilibrium approach (if H2 and O2 are coming from different inlets).

SubscriberSir,
Thank you for the reply...So can I input the mole fractions for the dissociated products like H,OH...in FLUENT solver?

Forum ModeratorTypically you'd add fuel & oxidiser at the inlet and the chemistry will do the rest inside the domain; you'll also see options to add any of the other species at the inlet if needed.Â
