Motor simulation with Eddy Current Mode in Electronic Student Desktop

      Hi all,

I am trying to simulate a simple two-phase motor with Ansys Maxwell in Electronic Student Desktop Suite. The design is as follows:

However, Ansys student version does not support Transient mode in Maxwell. Since I am using AC current to control the motor, I would need to use Eddy Current Mode instead of Magnetostatic. No perma magnet is supported in Eddy Current Mode so I would need to use an electromagnet with steady DC current as the core instead. Is this viable with Eddy Current Mode?

      Hello,

I highly recommend using the Magnetostatic Solver. You can create a parametric run by incrementally rotating the rotor at a small angle for each iteration. Additionally, consider varying the stator current to explore different scenarios during the parametric run.
