Hello ANSYS Community,
I hope you can assist me in resolving an issue I'm facing in my crimping analysis using ANSYS Mechanical.
Context:
I am conducting a crimping analysis where I aim to simulate the insertion of a plug into a tube to a depth of 10 mm. For this purpose, I have set up a transient analysis in which I apply a displacement to the plug of 10 mm to represent the initial crimping part.
Problem:
Once the crimping is done, I want to test the breaking point by applying reverse pressure on the plug in the opposite direction. However, the simulation results do not seem to accurately reflect the effect of this reverse pressure.
Actions Taken:
I have checked the definition of the reverse pressure load, ensuring it is correctly configured and applied after the crimping.
I have inspected intermediate results to understand how the model reacts over time. The initial crimping seems correct, but the reverse pressure does not appear to influence the results as expected.
Questions:
Are there specific considerations I should be aware of when defining reverse pressure after a displacement in ANSYS?
Are there particular parameters to adjust to ensure the simulation appropriately accounts for reverse pressure after the initial crimping?
I would be grateful for any suggestions or advice that could help me resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Best regards,

Hi,
Â
When applying reverse pressure then what is not going as expected? Is the solid cylindrical potion not moving out on -ve Z-direction?
Please comment.

yes thats the problem there is no moving, no stress, no reaction force on the solid cylindrical portion after 0,3s (time when pressure start). so pressure seems to be not applied
