SubscriberHello everyone, I'm having issues with the meshing of a body made of a sandwich honeycomb structure. The thing is, I imported a model from Catia to Ansys, but Ansys reads it as a 3 part body with voids (being each part the corresponding layer of the sandwich structure) and fails to mesh it. I don't know how to handle these voids and why they appear. I tried creating the structure in the design modeler, but again, Ansys fails to mesh it. I don't know if it has to do with the contact regions between the 3 parts of the body or what. I would very much appreciate it if any of you can guess what's the main problem or if you know of any other method to create a prismatic body made of a sandwich structure (two sheets and a honeycomb).Â

Try slicing the model into sections just to see if the individual sections will mesh.Â
Another idea may be to export from Catia as a neutral format, STEP, IGES etc.Â
See if the CAD format makes any difference.Â

SubscriberYeah, I exported the assembly from CATIA in STEP and IGS format and it makes no difference. The problem is that when importing to Ansys, there are some voids that are generated ialong the thickness of the different sheets and honeycomb structures, and I don't know why is that happening.
Nonetheless, I'll try slicing the body into different parts and see if it works better the mesh. Thanks!
