Dear all,
Recently, I have been learning Lumerical. Since I am interested in nonlinear optics, I have followed the instructions from the following link to simulate the SHG spectrum.
https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042190413-Harmonic-generation-with-a-chi2-material
I am wondering if this method could see the SPDC signal.
Thank you for answering!

Hi Chieh,
Yes, you can use the chi2 material model to simulate SPDC. But nonlinear simulations are challenging and there are always additional considerations. I will suggest you to look at the following article for more information on the Nonlinear simulation methodology: Nonlinear and gain methodology

Hi Amrita,
Thanks for the reply!
I followed the link you provided and Harmonic generation with a chi2 material – Ansys Optics. I could see the SHG signal using a point time monitor. However, I couldn't see the SPDC signal even when I used the log scale. I might miss something. Could you give me some instructions? I tried to find papers, but most of them used COMSOL.
Best,
Chieh
