Hello guys, i calculate Cd in 2D by fluent

      Frontal area is need to calculate.

      But in 2D, Thickness is not exist.

      Then we assume scale of thickness...(in fluent, thicknesss = 1m default in reference value)

      when we search Cd(in 2D) in google, we find some values.

      Are those values obtained assuming a thickness of 1m for both?

      Cd is different by thickness..

      This question comes from 2D cylinder simualtion

      Cd is depend on Re and form.

      But, i got different value in D=1m cylinder and D=2m

      Simulation is calculated in Re=100

      My English is bad.

      Hi,

      The drag coefficient is influenced by the size and shape of the object. When you search for Cd values online, these values are often provided for specific conditions, including a certain Reynolds number and sometimes a reference thickness. In 2D simulations, thickness is not a physical parameter, but a reference thickness may be assumed for the purpose of calculations. This reference thickness is often used to non-dimensionalize the results.when comparing Cd values for 2D simulations, make sure to check the reference values and assumptions used in obtaining those coefficients
