Ansys Mechanical – Help with static structural setup error

      Hello everyone,

I am trying to perform a finite element method (FEM) simulation of von Mises stress for a rotor of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in Ansys Mechanical. I have completed the static structural setup, but I am encountering the following error:

"Not enough constraints appear to be applied to prevent rigid body motion. This may lead to solution warnings or errors. Check results carefully." I also deleted the automatic connection, inserted the connection group as a joint, and then created a new automatic connection. However, the error did not go away.

I have attached some pictures of my setup details for your reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached Link

      Hi Hamid,

The error indicates that there is rigid body motion experienced by a part. You can perform a modal analysis to see which part is experiencing rigid body motion. Also, please check the following Ansys Innovation Course, which might be useful:

      Thanks and Regards,
