I want to study the optical properties of optical sources (Laser), using quantum well. when simulating the optical source without quantum well in fdtd, the dipole source is positioned in the middle of the emissive layer. So, if I want to implement a quantum well in the same structure, in what position should I put the dipole source between multi-quantum well layers of emissive layer and barrier?Â

Hello, when we use a dipole source to represent an emissive structure in FDTD, we place the source where the photons are being emitted from. I would just place the source in the middle of the MQW structure, the same as the non-MQW case. If you're unsure, you could also try running the simulation several times with the source placed in a different emissive layer each time to see if the result changes.
