SubscriberHello,
in ansys additive porosity simulation, the value of solid ratio and the void ratio as outputs how they have been calculated based on what ? how to detect 0 or 1 in the cell ?Â

Ansys EmployeeThe porosity calculation is performed thru the thermal solver. The code uses the thermal history to predict the state (powder, liquid, solid) of all locations in the build domain. These states are retained to create a map of solid and powder material. Solid ratio is the comparison of how much of the total volume is solid. If you have a solid ratio of .973 that means that 97.3% of the sample is solid and 2.7% is powder, which is equivalent to 2.7% porosity.
Refer to the Additive User's Guide: Overview of Thermal Solver. (https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v221/en/add_print/add_print_thermal_solver.html).
