SubscriberHi everyone,
I have a 3D S809 airfoil for which I plan to create a structured mesh. I have meshed it in ICEM as shown below.
Next, I checked the quality of the produced mesh using the  'orthogonal quality'  and 'determinant 3*3*3' and 'Quality' features, which according to the figures below, only the subairfoil has very low quality:
Â
The generated mesh looks very high quality, but only a few elements under the airfoil have lowered the quality of the mesh. The value of orthogonal quality near zero (0.01) is very bad, which causes errors in Fluent.
Can anyone help me what is the cause and how can I fix the problem of low quality?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Apply adequate (not too less cell size/ high number of divisions) cell sizing according to the y+ value. Over reduction of the cell size can lead to poor cell quality. Also, please check if you have associated the edges, points properly.
