unable to import solidworks 18 files

      when i try to import a solidworks 18 file into ansys 19 ,I am getting an error saying "file version not supported "

      Hi Sanju,


        Please see this document on CAD Platform support.


        The Reader only supports Solidworks 2017 but the Plugin would support 2017 and 2018. For differences between the 2, please see this section of the help documentation.

       thank you Mr.sandeep , is there any other way so that I can  import files in reader cad mode

      Hi Sanju,


      You can Save As... Parasolid in SolidWorks, then Import the Parasolid file into DesignModeler using File > Import External CAD file, or you can open the Parasolid file with SpaceClaim.

      You can use SpaceClaim to import solidworks file. 


      You can also use setting - 


      File - spaceclaim options - File options - Workbench - Always use spaceclaim reader
