 Please see this document on CAD Platform support.
 The Reader only supports Solidworks 2017 but the Plugin would support 2017 and 2018. For differences between the 2, please see this section of the help documentation.

You can Save As... Parasolid in SolidWorks, then Import the Parasolid file into DesignModeler using File > Import External CAD file, or you can open the Parasolid file with SpaceClaim.

Ansys EmployeeYou can use SpaceClaim to import solidworks file.Â
You can also use setting -Â
File - spaceclaim options - File options - Workbench - Always use spaceclaim reader
