SubscriberI am trying to do a two phase (boiling) simulation in ansys fluent. I have chosen CLSVOF for interface tracking but after running the simulation i find the vapor is not generating but while i am running the same case using only VOF its working fine. While reading the ansys fluent user manual i found its clearly written that when we will use level set there is will be no mass transfer, is it the reason why i am getting the error?

SubscriberSo when simulating the flow boiling case we cannot use coupled level set VOF method in ansys fluent right?

Forum ModeratorYou can, but you won't get any phase change. I'd also be wary of using VOF for boiling, and would tend to favour Eulerian, but you can read up on that to explain why.Â

Forum ModeratorThat's using a user defined mass exchange, so not the built in boiling models. It should work, but will require you to code up all of the phase change models, ie mass, energy exchange and any iterative/stability functions to make it behave. That'll be very non-trivial!Â
