SubscriberHello everyone,I am BE Mechanical Student, currently working on calculating poisson ratio of honeycomb like structure, for which I have fixed one part & subjected the other part to tensile load of 2000N.
I am simulating this using static structural module of Ansys Workbench.
I have calculated directional deformation in perpendicular/shear & axial direction.
Is this the correct method to calculate Poisson ratio by dividing shear displacement/normal displacement for any type of structure including auxetic structure?

Note:Load of 2000N has been applied along Y-direction.

Forum ModeratorHi,

Poisson's ratio is a needed material property and I think you will need experimental testing to determine Poisson's ratio.
