Hello,

 

I am going to buy workstation to run ansys. This workstation contains processor xeon e5-2683 v4, but my friend told that he tried the se configuration and ansys discovery was crashing avery time, just when he opens the ansys discovery the workstations urgently shuts down. What is the suitable specs for ansys discovery and wht do you expect the error that faces my friend?

I would suggest you go through the Hardware requirements for using Ansys Discovery before buying the workstation, please check this page given below.

Please check if your friend's workstation meets the Hardware requirements. If you are using Discovery Student License Version, please use Ansys Learning Forum for your queries.

Discovery Explore mode uses GPU for simulation. Please check the hardware requirements for both CPU and GPU requirements.

Atharv Joshi but it seems that there is a problem. Kindly, I wend over the requirments, I made sure that the requirments are suitable as I told the machine are (2 x xeon e5-2683 v4 and RTX 3090). However that when running Discovery It seems that it uses the cpu for 10 secs after during doing the first simulation and then it shuts down urgently? This problem can not be figured out easily by the normal user when he goes over the requirments page.
