SubscriberHello, how can we take into account thin bodies in the Explore structural simulation? Even using the maximum fidelity, the solver doesn't include them in the simulation (version 2022R2).
Thanks and Regards

SubscriberHello MicaOli
Discovery Explore is designed to provide an interactive workflow for a wide range of supported graphics cards, it adjusts the available fidelity range (minimum and maximum) to keep a fine balance between performance and level of detail. This means that depending on the available graphics memory and computational resources, the limit on what Discovery Explore is able to resolve geometrically changes.
As you correctly mentioned, you can increase the fidelity slider to capture smaller feature lengths. You can check the minimum feature length that can be captured with your GPU capabilities in the given geometry with the help of size preview tool in fidelity settings.Â
For further control, you can choose the desired level of your solution accuracy by selecting a fidelity setting from the Global drop-down menu in the Simulation tab ribbon.
You should be in standard fidelity approach now. You can change it to aggressive or extreme mode and capture even thinner surfaces. Although Aggressive or Extreme capture more geometric details and yield higher-fidelity results than the Standard setting, it runs the risk of running out of GPU memory. With the custom (advanced) approach you can set factor for GPU usage. Specifying a value over 1, combined with a high-fidelity slider position, may cause the simulation to run out of GPU memory.
Hence use these approaches with caution, and make sure your system is not running any other high GPU demanding operation at the time.
Regards.

SubscriberHello MicaOli
Will it be possible for you to share the files with me, I can check on my end as well.
Regards.

SubscriberHi Charudatta Bandgar ,
I can share only one part of the model for proprietary reasons, and I attach the SpaceClaim file here. The loads and constraints are not important at this point. Anyway I'll chek on another machine I have with a bigger GPU memory. I'll keep you updated. Thanks and Regards.Â

SubscriberCharudatta Bandgar , any findings about this?
I tested the model on a PC with a graphic card with 8Gb Ram and didn't work, even if I had simplified the geometry :-(
