SubscriberIn my simulation, I’m using Porous Media/Non-Equilibrium approach. In estimating the interfacial heat transfer coefficient, I use a correlation of the kind: hfs=C*(Pr^n)*(Ra^m)*(K/d) to be input as a user-defined-profile. As it is known, Fluent uses double-cell approach in solving the two energy equations (one for the fluid medium and the other for the solid medium). The fluid medium temperature is recalled as Tf=C_T(c,t), but how to recall the solid medium temperature (Ts) needed in Rayleigh number . Could anybody help with this? Thank you in advance.

AdministratorHi Bruon,
In non-equilibrium thermal model of porous media, Fluent creates separate fluid and solid zones. You can get the domain id of the solid zone (from the cell zones tab) and use this id to define your solid thread in your udf. The solid temp can be accessed through C_T(c,t) by looping over this newly created solid thread.
Please use the Fluent Customization Manual for more details.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Karthik
