Hi,
I want to perform a transient simulation in MAPDL that has thousands of time steps. At the beginning of each time step, I want to select all elements that have a strain level of more than a specific value and then apply some function (such as EKILL) to them. Does anyone know how to do this in ANSYS MAPDL? Should I use the ETAB command for this purpose?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide,

Hi
You can use nsel (using say EPEL to select nodes with strain above a value) followed by esln commands. See the help manual on these commands.
Also this tutorial describes this, and how to do what you need (just need to select based on epel strain instead of seqv stress like in the tutorial).

Hi Erik,
This is very helpful. Thank you so much!
