Dynamic mesh

      Hello to everyone.

I am trying to simulate free falling of the infinite cylinder in water. When I use simple triangular mesh everything works fine, but I would like to perform calculation using «symmetrical» about the Y axis rectangular (or triangular but symmetrical) mesh. The problem is that cylinder can deviate in X direction and I can’t use simple layering option for region below the cylinder. When I try to use the same options as for simple triangular mesh (smoothing and remeshing) I have pretty bad mesh in the end of simulation. I have also tried to use «symmetrical» triangular mesh, but after first time step mesh below cylinder was remeshed. I think that the main problem in setted skewness, but when I try to reduce it I have message: "Maximum Cell Skewness outside reasonable limits, using 0.4 instead"

Can someone help me to find information about appropriate dynamic mesh options for this case?

Files with «symmetrical» mesh are in attachments.

Hi , the files are not attached. You need to look at the Spring factor in your dynamic mesh. From the picture you attached it looks like as if the cell has been allowed to stretch too much. Please upload your workbench files.

      Thank you for your reply

I've tried to reduce Spring factor but it didn't help. In attachment *.cas file of this task. I actually don't understand should I activate layering option in this case or not (I tried, but it didn't hel either, so I am a little confused)
