ACP pre problems

      Hi all.

      After creating the material in the material designer, I go to ASP pre. The layers for the model are set there.

      1. Is it possible to use an axisymmetric model with complex geometry? How to set one layer for all this?

      2. ACP only works with shells. What to do if the geometry is complex. Can I turn the solid only into the outer shell and use it, but the geometry itself will still be complex (cutouts, bends, holes)? How to set a homogeneous layer on such a geometry?

      Hi,

      An axisymmetric analysis is not supported. If you switch to 2D geometry then you will get following error:

      Axisymmetric analysis uses Plane elements. These are not layered elements. This is a 2D analysis. Check the Mechanical APDL element reference guide for info on these elements

      ACP does not create plane elements. You can use ACP for creating layered shells and layered solid elements.

      If you need to do an axisymmetric analysis, you can do that directly in Mechanical. You do not have to use ACP

      =============

      You can import the outer shell or inner shell into ACP. YOu can define the modeling plies and build a solid model in ACP resulting in layered solids. You can import cut off geometry and cut the solid mesh to create the holes, blends etc. Check the ACP documentation for more details
