Inlet Pressure Transient Profile

Hello Could anyone kindly help in telling me how to create a transient Inlet Pressure Profile.
I am familiar with pressure profiles in steady state cases where Time is not a variable but can we do the same with Time dependency?

      Cheers

I have not ever performed transient simulations, but two methods may help.

1 you can create an Expression if the Pressure is a function of the time t. eg. P=101325[Pa]+10[Pa/s]*t (notice the unit)

2 your can set the inlet pressure profile using User Fortran. I just learned something about CFX User Fortran. It can obtain the transient information, set the boundary profile and so on.

Maybe I'm wrong. You use Fluent? It needs to call UDF.

Thanks Min, I know how to use a udf to do it but I was wondering if we can use a profile with a time variable.
      Thanks for your reply!

I just found something in Fluent User's Guide. Section 6.6.5 (Defining Transient Cell Zone and Boundary Condition) mentions two methods to set the cell zone or boundary condition that vary only in time. You can refer to that.
