Please I want to simulate a fluid to deal with it as a small particles, how can I do that?

November 1, 2017 at 9:48 pmRaef.KobeissiSubscriberWhat type of fluid are you dealing with?
The discrete phase model (DPM) is one way to deal with discrete particles

i have a non newtonian fluid move on a surface and need to study its properties at the end of movies but considering it as a particles.
Â
how I am supposed to put the size of the paricles or what is the properties I have to add to make it as a particles not homogenous fluid?Â

November 1, 2017 at 10:04 pmRaef.KobeissiSubscriberIf the fluid you’re talking about is the only fluid you’re using in the simulation it cannot be modeled as DPM because DPM is a way to inject discrete particles into a continuous fluid/domain. I am not sure why do you want to represent your fluid in a particle form. I don’t think you can achieve that.
Unless you want to visualise your streamlines in a particle form than this is different from actually simulating the fluid flow in particle florm.
There are methods to simulate fluids as particles such as smooth particle hydrodynamics but this is not CFD and it is not achieved by using ANSYS. These methods are usually used in 3D animations and they lack physical accuracy. -

the fluid is soldering material in form of sluid and to make the modelling more accurate we need to make the fluid simulated as a particles

You can use the DPM model in that case along side other models like solidification/melting but you have to remember that DPM should be within a continuous fluid domain.
