SubscriberHello everyone,
I have a 3D STL geometry and I want to know how can I create a structured mesh for it ?
I opened the STL file in ICEM through the following command:
File => Import Geometry => Faceted => STL.
But I can't select geometry lines. As if they are locked.
Is it possible to create an structured mesh for 3D STL geometry ?
Thanks.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Sometimes there happens to be a glitch while importing the geometry file to the ICEM. Please try using .step file to import. Check if the curves and surfaces are selected in the geometry in ICEM.

SubscriberMy geometry is a 3D wing that only has STL format and I can't use other formats.
Let me say it completely:
First, after drawing the wing on it, I created an structured mesh with hexahedral elements by ICEM. After the optimization process I have access to the wing geometry in STL format. Now I want to create a structured mesh with hexahedral elements on it by ICEM.
Can I draw a domain around STL wing in ICEM and then create a structured mesh with hexahedral elements by creating block on it ?

Ansys EmployeeCan you share the screenshot of the mesh/model?
