Failed bonded connections.

Hi! I'm still here trying to perform an efficient drop test for a skid landing gear but, as said in the title, I'm losing all the bounderies between the tubulars and the skid as you can see in pic A and B.

This is a drop test in Explicit Dynamic, so the landing gear has to be dropped from a certain height with a non-zero initial velocity. Some important info: I split all the tubulars in Discovery ( so instead of 1 body I have 8 bodies) to optimize my meshing and as far as I know this is something that I can do. Now, the issue occurs when I have to connect those 8 bodies: I have "glued" them with 4 body-connections  (the horizontal tubulars with the inclined ones are the first two, and the latters with the skids are the other two) as you can see in pic C,D,E and F.

I guess I failed to choice the right connections but I still don't know why this approach worked perfectly fine in Static Structural and not here in Explicit. The End Time of the simulation is set to 0,02 sec ( maybe it's too large but I am interested also in some rebound reactions by the landing gear when it touches the ground) but at some point it stops to continue due to energy-error exceeding as you can see in Pic G.

I was wondering what is the right path to take here. Just some ulterior info: I have already  tried to split the geometry and shared all the common nodes between the contact surfaces with Shared Topology but that causes some meshing issues (I hardly prefer to work with hex mesh instead of the tetrahedral one). Thanks to everyone who can help me.

Hi , you might need to useMaximum Offset, This should be set to a value greater than the maximum estimated distance between the scoped geometries expected during the simulation to allow the contact to function as it should. or ty using the shared topology.

      cheers, Ram

Thank you Ram! I increased the Maximum Offset to 10 mm, just to be safe and it works perfectly fine. By the way I noticed that there is a minimal interpenetration between the horizontal tubular and the inclined one as you can see in this Pic:

I don't tkink that is completely normal, how can I fix this? Thank you again.
