April 11, 2023 at 12:16 pmmertozkan SubscriberHello, I am doing some analysis to predict the burst pressure for Type-4 pressure vessel. I am using ACP toolbox to model composite sutructure and Static Structural toolbox to perform the analysis. Here I define the polyethylene material in the library as the lining material and all my analysis says it explodes at 25 MPa. However, I am performing this analysis with the expectation of a pressure value much higher than this pressure value. When I perform these analyzes together with the static structural, much higher values are reached. After performing these analyzes, the closeness of the analyzes to reality made me nervous. Then, if I model these analyzes as if it is Type-5 tubes, will it gives a result close to the value I would get in a Type-4 tube? Mert

April 11, 2023 at 5:18 pmAshish Khemka Forum ModeratorHi Mert, Which material model are you using? For predicting the burst you should have the stress-strain data points till ultimate strength. Use Multilinear Kinematic Hardening to define the material. Defining a Multilinear Hardening Plasticity Model | Ansys Courses  Thanks and Regards, Ashish Khemka

April 11, 2023 at 8:08 pmmertozkan SubscriberHello Ashish, Thank you for your prompt reply. Actually I didnt do anything that as you mentioned. I tried to find burst pressure for the pressure vessel I defined damage model only. I saw this post on this platform and I tried it. But I am not totally sure of the results and I thougt if I do this analysis for Type-5 tank maybe it gives similar result. /forum/forums/topic/how-to-find-burst-pressure-of-a-pressure-vessel-in-ansys/ I will try your mentioned steps again.  Regards, Mert
