Ansys EmployeeSometimes numerical instabilities leading to non-convergence are really just loads that are outside the bounds of what the mathematical material model can represent. The solver autotime stepping technology is designed to make adjustments on the fly to find that optimal time increment to achieve balance. Finding the best range can still take some trial and error effort, but it is highly problem dependent. Some applications are much more sensitive to this than others.
