SubscriberHi,
I am using laminar model with finite rate chemistry to simulate methane air co flow diffusion flame. At the end of simulation, I tried to estimate the net reaction rate from temperature and species data from fluent, then I tried to match it with fluent output of net rate of reaction. I found that these two values does not match. Could you help me about this?

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Please try using EDM instead of FR, as methane-air reaction is a fast reaction with Da > 1. And I would suggest turbulent flow for proper mixing of air and fuel.

SubscriberHi,
My problem statement is laminar flow. I needed the finitte rate chemistry to to solve the problem. The issue is that once I take molar concentration and temperature foutput from fluent and calculate the net kinetic rate of reaction using same parameters used in fluent simulation. I can not match these two values (my hand calulations and fluent output of kinetic rate of reaction). Can you suggest something which might be the cause of this dicrepency.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Is your mesh proper (growth rate, aspect ratio, orthogonal quality), did you setup the case properly, which type of mechanism are you using? Have you used polluttants and radiation in your case? There are many factors which decide the accuracy of the solutions.
