SubscriberWhen I open the assembly file which I download, sometimes some parts are moved together.
How can I make it move independently in DL or SCDM?

Forum ModeratorHi JUGYEONG SHIN
If your components are bound by conditions such as 'Orient' they will move together to maintain that conditions. Please ensure that the components are not bound by such conditions.

You can turn off or delete the conditions and then move them. Remember, if your turn off, when you turn them back on again they will Align/ Orient again.
Please refer to #9 'Assembly tools' on the SpaceClaim Tutorials page .

SubscriberSubashni Oh there's misunderstanding. I mean, the assembly which is made by other CAD tool.
I loaded the robot arm assembly file(.iam format file) and bolts and nuts are moved together. So, I can't find the way to modify assembly settings.
Is there any way to make apart their move, or do I have to open the assemble model in other CAD tool and fix it?

Is it possible for you to share the model so that we can look into it and help you better?
If the file is too large or contains proprietary information to be shared here, I can send you a secure link to transfer the file on your email. Please let me know.

Forum ModeratorSubashni JUGYEONG SHIN Making components independent will allow you to move 1 solid but that will inadvertently remove the instance relationship which i often needed and that will impact the BOM. If you move 1 bolt and all duplicate bolts move, that is because you are moving the solid. Moving the solid of 1 instance moves the solid of all instances (intentional).
You want to select the component and move that., These videos show some best practices in selecting and moving components, vs solids vs sub-assemblies
