SubscriberHow many types of goals and constraints were offered in discovery topology optimization? Can topology optimization be applied under multiple working conditions?

SubscriberHello Frank ,
Currently, you can use optimization to either maximize the strength of your topology, minimize the response to free vibration, or both. You can also target a specified frequency or optimize to remove excess material.
The goal for your optimization. You can:
- Maximize Stiffness: This option, which maximizes stiffness and minimizes compliance, reduces the volume or mass but maintains the maximum stiffness possible for the remaining structure.
- Maximize Natural Frequency: This option minimizes the response to frequency vibration.
- Balance Stiffness and Frequency: This option attempts to both maximize stiffness and minimize the response to frequency vibration.
In constraint for your optimization. You can constrain the volume reduction (by maximum percentage/ maximum volume) or a target frequency, or both.
You can also optimize to Remove excess material (as your goal), and define Aggressiveness, enter a value for how aggressively the solver refines your shape.
For more information please refer to the tutorial and the DISCOVERY documentation.
