i am not able to make pattern after i upgrade to spaceclaim 2021. i know the pattern step, that's what i did:

pick pattern sign  ( message : Select objects to create the circular pattern)

pick body in history tree ( message stay the same :  Select objects to create the circular pattern)

so i directly hit the body ( pick the body by hitting the mouse twice ( message : select a linear edge, curve or an axils to pattern about )

so i pick the axis line

then press OK,  then shows message : failed to create pattern

for 2021 versioin, we need to go to select manu to select body first , then press pattern sign, then everything is working. if pattern line or surface, you directly press pattern sign, then pick body, then pick edge or line to create pattern.

Hello Hongqiao Li I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. I have attached a video explanation of me using the pattern tool, with both the ways you mentioned, and it works correctly. Is this query, related to the same issue? Is it sorted now? Regards.

i am using 2021R1 version, i can't directly press pattern, pick part, centerline. i have to press " select" first, then pattern, then pick body , centerline

There isn't any change with the way pattern operation works in both versions (I have checked in 2020R, 2021R1, 2021R2). Pattern tool works as intended by both the ways you have explained. Can you please send me a screen recording of it, so that I can understand better what you are trying to do?

when i directly press pattern in the tool bar, then i triple clip on the body, it shows 1 face (not body).  if i clip body in history tree, it shows 1 curve i selected. anyway i can't make pattern for body (ok for line or surface though)  by start press pattern button at top tool bar. but i can make pattern body by start from press " select " at top tool bar.
