Is Electromagnetics still available in Discovery (like it was under AIM before)?

      Hi Stefan Jung

No, Electromagnetics is not available in Discovery (like it was under AIM before).

      Regards.

So is it then integrated under "Ansys Elctronics", or where can I find it now?

      Hi Stefan,

What is the application you are looking for? If it is LF Electromagnetics, you may want to use Ansys Maxwell, if it is electric-thermal-stress coupling with Joule heating you may want to use Ansys Mechanical.

You may want to visit this page for information on Electronics capabilities and products:
Ansys Electronics | Complete Electronics Simulation Tools

You can also find capabilities you are looking for, from the Capability chart here and the suitable product for the same:
      Ansys 2020 R2 Capabilities | Brochure

Let us know if you still have doubts.

      Regards

Mohib Khan Hello Mohib, on general question: We here at FAURECIA still have the former 2020R5 Ansys Discovery AIM & LIVE version installed; but since the license update to version 2021 I am not able to open AIM... only LIVE is still able to be opened...
=> Is AIM really no longer supported or even no more able to be opened again?
Thanks so far for your quick responses, kind regards,
        Stefan

        Hi Stefan,

I believe you had Ansys Discovery Ultimate license. AIM was retired with 2020 R2 version. New Ansys Discovery Simulation license does not support AIM. But if you want to still use AIM, you can discuss this with your Ansys Sales Representative to get Ansys Discovery Ultimate Legacy license to run the same in old version.

        Regards,

        Mohib
