SubscriberDear all,
I received the SMP DP R14 version of LS-DYNA through secure transfer, for both Windows and Linux.
The object version when compiled in Windows works as expected. The same object version when compiled for Linux (HPC application) throws a license error (see below).
The models were run on a single node of the HPC (40 cores) for which LS-DYNA SMP DP R13 works. The Windows R14 object version, points to the same license server and also works.
Have you had any such issues in the past?Best Regards,
Â
George

Ansys EmployeeHello George,
Do you have the same LSTC license manager for both Windows and Linux client machines? Which option revision do you have in the license file? Do you have the R14 option? See image below for example:
If you don't have the Revision 14 option in the license file, you won't be able to run R14. You will need to request a new license file with the R14 option in it.
Â
Let me know how it goes.

Reno.

SubscriberHi Reno,
We were unable to find such an indicator in our license manager, we are using the Ansys license manager instead of the LSTC license manager. I have spoken to our account manager in Ansys who might be able to help sort out the issue.
I apologise for the delay.
Many Thanks,
Â
George

Ansys EmployeeHello George,
Can you send me the LS-DYNA banner screenshot for the run on Linux with the R14 object file? Is this solver enabled for the Ansys license? See example below:
Â
If the solver is not ANSYSLIC enabled, then it won't work with the Ansys license. In this case, we will have to recompile another solver and send it to you.

Ansys EmployeeHello George,
Â
Are you pointing to the same license server on Linux as you do on Windows? What is the LSTC_LICENSE environment variable set to on Linux? You are using the exact same version of LS-DYNA on Windows and Linux and so it should work on both.
Is this the only error message you get?
Â
Can you send me the messag file by email?
Â
I don't handle Ansys licensing issues; only LSTC licenses. Let me check with a colleague if he can help with this problem.
Â
I think the best would be to file an SR for this problem and have someone from our installation and licensing support group have a look.

Ansys EmployeeHello George,
Â
My colleague says he would have to check the Ansys licensing log on the Linux machine. Ansys employees are not allowed to upload and download files on the Ansys Forum.
So, you will have to file an SR for this problem. The SR should go to the installation and licensing support group and not to me.
